"And
now
faith, hope, and love abide, these three, and the greatest of these
is love" 1 Corinthians 13:13 Love has no boundaries, nor is it defined by sexual orientation. God has blessed us with the ultimate love, Jesus Christ, who has shown us the way and how to love. At the Metropolitan Community Church of Windsor, we believe that a Wedding is a special event in the lives of the people involved. MCC Windsor celebrates that love in the Rite of Holy Matrimony between two consenting adults.
We also believe that the ceremony is just the
beginning. In order to support the couple, we work to build a
relationship with them. There are still many pressures on
same-sex couples, that opposite-sex couples do not face, and
vice-versa. The church works to become part of the support system
for ALL
couples, as well as a bridge to the larger community.
Following an interview with the Pastor, usually to discuss details of the ceremony, a couple may be joined in the Rite of Holy Matrimony.
In addition to the Pastor's fee and marriage license expense, there are some other costs you will need to consider, such as obtaining a place for the Wedding. Use of the sanctuary at Westminster United Church is available to couples desiring to use the facility. There is a Two Hundred Dollar ($200.00) fee for those who are not active Members of MCC Windsor. Usually a date will be set with the Pastor at the first meeting and will then be cleared with Westminster before it can be put on the calendar. You may also need to consider other fees, such as soloists, musicians, and witnesses (if needed). The church can make available the names of people to play and sing. All fees for their services must be worked out with them.
