The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) came into being on October 6, 1968, in response to the Rev. Elder Troy Perry's call to ministry. The very first MCC service was held in Los Angeles, California.

In 1972, the first MCC in Canada was established in Toronto by the Rev. Bob Wolfe. On January 8, 1988, Windsor joined the Eastern Canadian District of UFMCC under the leadership of the late Rev. Don McRae.

From 1996 to 1999, MCC Windsor was under the leadership of the Rev. Evan LeBlanc. From January to June 2000, MCC Windsor was lead by an Interim Pastor, the Rev. Mark Bidwell, of MCC Detroit. From September 2000 to December 2002 the Rev. Marsha Dempsey served as Pastor of MCC Windsor. The Rev. Brenda Hunt served us as Pastor for the period January 2003 to November 2004.

In November 2004 MCC Windsor called the Rev. Martha Daniels as Pastor. Martha brings with her experience and leadership from her previous duties in the United Methodist Church (USA). Martha recently celebrated her sixth anniversary as our Pastor, and we look forward to continue our journey with her.

MCC Windsor held its first service at Iona College, moved to Mackenzie Hall, returned to Iona College, and then moved to a more permanent location on Edison Street. MCC Windsor enjoyed a wonderful space-sharing arrangement with Chalmers United Church for five years. Since May 2001, MCC Windsor worships at Westminster United Church, Tecumseh Road West & Dougall Avenue, Windsor, Ontario.

We are always looking for new ways to reach out to our community of Windsor and Essex County, but...

We can't do it without you!
